Sunday marks National Parents' Day. The holiday, which occurs every year on the fourth Sunday in July, is a day to be with family and show love, gratitude and affection to parents and parental figures for the role they play in our lives.

It’s a special day to honor parents and spend time together doing something fun. This can be especially meaningful to grandparents and senior loved ones who may feel lonely or past their prime.

Spend the day with your parents or visit someone who was like a parent to you.

Here are a few fun activity ideas:

  • Visit a favorite destination (such as an ice cream shop or restaurant)
  • Work on a memory book or photo album
  • Make a meal together (then enjoy it together)
  • Have family game night
  • Help tackle household chores
  • Do a puzzle
  • Create a family bucket list

It doesn’t matter what you do, as long as you’re enjoying it together.

From the SHC family to yours, we wish everyone a Happy National Parents' Day.
