Ryan Whittington

Dear Friends,

We hope everyone stayed cool and hydrated during the recent dog days of summer. It’s hard to believe that fall is just around the corner. At SHC, we always know summer is nearing an end when we start to hear the voices and laughter of kids returning to school at Avery Elementary up the street from our office.

Soon it will be September, which is Healthy Aging Month. There are so many ways to improve your health and the benefits are incredible. Adding a little exercise (such as walking, swimming, dancing, or aerobics) to your weekly routine can do wonders for your physical and mental health. Physical activity is known to reduce the risk of chronic diseases, improve mood, and enhance cognitive function. It can also improve sleep quality, increase energy levels, and help manage stress. Additionally, it’s a great thing to do with a friend. There’s no time like the present to call a friend and go for a walk or find a routine that works for you!

In the last newsletter, we highlighted our new SAGE program for individuals with advanced dementia. As we continue to grow the program, we are excited to now offer a SAGE Activity Resource Library. Through the library, clients and caregivers can borrow fun activities to stimulate the mind.

These toys and games provide engagement, sensory stimulation, and reminiscence for individuals with cognitive decline. Examples include fidget toys, simple puzzles, and familiar games that evoke positive memories and promote interaction. If you would like to learn more about SAGE or its resource library, please contact the office.

Here’s to cooler days and a wonderful fall season!

Yours in Service,
Gretchen & Ryan Whittington

Aging Life Care Management with Seniors Home Care

Aging Life Care Management (ACLA) is a holistic, client-centered approach to caring for older adults facing ongoing health challenges. Working with families, the expertise of an Aging Life Care Manager provides answers at a time of uncertainty. Help the SHC Loaner Car Program

At Seniors Home Care and SAGE In-Home Memory Care, we are always looking for ways to better serve our clients and support our dedicated caregivers. One of the ways we do this is through our Loaner Car Program – a service that allows our team to quickly provide a temporary vehicle to a caregiver when theirs is unavailable. This ensures care consistency and continuity.

We are currently working to expand this program and are seeking to add additional vehicles to our small fleet. If you happen to have an older car or SUV that is not being used, we would like the opportunity to purchase it from you. It doesn’t need to be perfect – just safe, reliable, and able to get from point A to point B.

Your vehicle could play an important role in helping a caregiver get to a client on time, making a difference in those we serve every day.

If you have a vehicle you would consider selling, please contact Ryan Whittington directly at 314-962-2666 or [email protected]. He’d be happy to discuss the details and make the process simple and straightforward.

Testimonial

Seniors Home Care has been a pleasure to work with supporting my 100 years old mother. My mom is bedridden, needs to be moved every 2 hours and now hand-fed. The women caregivers are very caring and supportive of my mother’s needs.

The staff at Seniors Home Care has worked closely with me for the past 5 years and now into the final stage of my mother’s life. They have always been responsive and kind, listening to my concerns. We have a great working team.

I highly recommend them to serve your family needs.
