2026 | Edition 2
Dear Friends,
It has already been a fun spring here at SHC. In April we held our bi-annual Caregiver Team Meetings, followed by our Annual Employee Picnic, which coincided with our 39th Anniversary! We love celebrating our amazing caregivers and the picnic is a great way to do it in style!
A highlight of the picnic is always celebrating our Caregiver of the Year and four Core Values awards winners. This year was no different. Read below to learn more about this year’s winners.
We tried something new this year by having our picnic at Dave and Busters. We enjoyed a record turnout and loved seeing a full room of smiling faces. It’s always a treat to spend time together outside of the office, meet family members, and get to know everyone a little better. It was also fun to see folks’ competitive sides come out when it came time to play games!
We hope everyone has been able to enjoy spring and the beautiful weather before the dog days of summer arrive.
Your in service,
Gretchen & Ryan Whittington

Stroke Awareness
May is Stroke Awareness Month. Strokes are a medical emergency, and every second counts, because time lost is brain lost.
Over the years, we have seen numerous instances of SHC Caregivers saving the day by acting quickly and dialing 911 upon noticing the signs of a client having a stroke.
Know these stroke warning signs and share them with others:
- Sudden numbness or weakness of the face, arm or leg, especially on one side of the body.
- Sudden confusion, trouble speaking or understanding.
- Sudden trouble seeing in one or both eyes.
- Sudden trouble walking, dizziness, loss of balance or coordination.
- Sudden, severe headache with no known cause.
If you or someone with you has one or more of these signs, don’t delay! Call 911 or the emergency medical services (EMS) number immediately. Also, check the time so you’ll know when the first symptoms appeared. It’s important to take immediate action. If given within three hours of the start of symptoms, a clot-busting drug can reduce long-term disability for the most common type of stroke.

Testimonial
“Seniors Home Care provided caregivers for a member of our family with multiple sclerosis, and our experience was consistently positive. Every caregiver we worked with was kind, patient, and highly professional.
More recently, we engaged their services for another elderly family member who is still able to live at home but needs assistance with several activities of daily living. The caregivers have been attentive and flexible, adapting to his routines while ensuring he stays on schedule with medications and daily tasks. Their support has made it possible for him to remain safely and comfortably in his own home. The caregivers are reliable, come rain or snow, and it a relief knowing they are with him.”
