Mary Baker Wins Top Honor as "Oustanding Older Worker"!
August 2015
Employees at Seniors Home Care recently took a break from the workday to celebrate Mary Baker, who has been named an Outstanding Older Worker of Missouri by the Department of Health and Senior Services.
A representative from MERS/Goodwill, the regional coordinator of the program, presented Mary with a certificate naming her the Outstanding Older Worker of Missouri in the St. Louis Region. She is one of ten winners from regions across the state.
At 82 years old, Mary is one of SHC’s go-to caregivers and widely praised for her heartfelt approach to assisting clients, one of whom was in attendance. Following the presentation, the client’s daughter added, “We love Mary. She doesn’t just tent to their needs, but to their hearts. She has really been a blessing for us.”
This is the 25th anniversary year for the contest, which honors Missourians who are at least 60 years old and gainfully employed at a Missouri job site. Winners will be honored in September at a two day awards ceremony in Jefferson City.
Since 1987, Seniors Home Care has provided elderly and disabled clients with premier home care services. Continued quality allows clients to lead dignified, independent and safe lives while their family members achieve a guilt-free, less stressful environment to enjoy their loved ones.
