Ryan Whittington Named One of the St. Louis Business Journal’s 40 Under 40

The St. Louis Business Journal had its hands full choosing this year’s “40 Under 40” list of standout St. Louis area business people under the age of 40. The paper received more than 750 nominations for the highly coveted title – more than any of the panelists had ever seen.
Among those named to the 2015 class is Ryan Whittington, the 36-year-old Director of Operations and co-owner of Webster Groves-based Seniors Home Care LLC.
Ryan has been around SHC since his mother, Kit Whittington, RN, founded the company 28 years ago but his rise in the company wasn’t just handed to him. Upon deciding to follow his mother’s career path, Ryan joined SHC as a caregiver. As he became interested in the administrative aspect of the business, Ryan took on office hours in addition to his caregiving shifts in the field.
It didn’t take long for Ryan’s impact to begin to show. His marketing efforts saw the business grow faster than ever. By 2012, SHC earned a spot on the St. Louis Business Journal’s list of fastest growing private companies in the St. Louis area. The same year, SHC also found themselves on the Inc. 500│5,000 list of fastest growing national companies – they have continued to make the list in 2013 and 2014 as well.
Outside of Seniors Home Care, Ryan is an active community fixture and member of the Webster Groves Lions Club (he was president from March 2010 to April 2011), Senior Roundtable and Chamber of Commerce.
